Align cheques to print

It isn't always necessary to specifically align cheque fields. Your browser and printer may work together correctly without the need to change alignment settings.

For best results, we recommend that you use cheques specifically designed for QuickBooks Online.

To align expense cheques to print:

  1. In the navigation bar, click Transactions > Expenses.

  2. Click Print Cheques.
  3. At the bottom of the page, click Print setup.
  4. Follow the instructions on the Print checks setup page to print a sample check.
  5. Click No, continue setup.
  6. On the Set up Adobe Reader page, click No, continue setup again.
  7. On the Fine-tune alignment page, drag the grid box with the dollar amount shown to the correct position on the check.
  8. Click View preview and print sample.
  9. On the Print preview page, click Print.
  10. Once the sample is printed on plain paper, hold it up to the light against a cheque to check the alignment.

  11. Click Close to close the Print preview window.
  12. Click Finish Setup.

Printing with your browser?

In the Print window, be sure to print using actual size. This means you may need to clear any options or properties that scale, shrink, or fit to size.

For most users, printing from a Chrome browser provides the best first-time experience.
