You need to enter the card security code (CVV) every time because it's used to verify the authenticity and validity of a credit card when it's not physically present, such as when the customer pays on the Internet or over the phone.
For example, if a customer always uses a credit card to pay you, you can enter the customer's credit card information (including name, address, credit card number, and expiration date) and save it in QuickBooks along with other information about the customer. However, you can't store the card security code. You need to enter it every time you receive payment from the customer.
