Manually update your bank accounts

If you want, you can manually update these accounts to catch any transactions that may have cleared in the hours since the last automatic download. A few financial institutions work a little differently. For example:

If your accounts don't automatically update nightly, you can check with your financial institution to find out what its policy is for your type of account.

To manually update your bank accounts:

  1. In the navigation bar, click Transactions > Banking (or Banking > Bank Feeds depending on what you see).

  2. Click Update in the upper right. QuickBooks begins updating your account.

You can keep working in QuickBooks while the accounts update, which might take a few moments. QuickBooks displays a notification when the updates are complete.
