Void or delete a transaction
When you want to remove a transaction, decide if you want to void or delete it.
- Void changes the transaction amount to zero and retains the original transaction date. The transaction is not removed, so you have it for your records. Not all types of transactions can be voided.
- Delete removes the transaction from QuickBooks.
To void a transaction
- Find and open the transaction that you want to void.
- Click More > Void at the bottom of the screen. If there is no Void option, this is a type of transaction that can't be voided. For example, you can't void a deposit, a pay cheque, or a taxpayment.
- Click Yes to confirm voiding the transaction.
To delete a transaction
- Find and open the transaction that you want to delete.
- Click More > Delete at the bottom of the screen.
- Click Yes to confirm that you want to delete the transaction.
