What is the card security code (CVV)?

This info applies to you only if you've been approved for QuickBooks Payments in the UK. We aren't accepting new applications at this time.

A card security code (sometimes called CVV for card verification value) is a unique 3- or 4-digit number on cards. It's a security measure that helps protect a consumer's card from fraud.

This code is required for transactions where the physical card itself isn't present.

QuickBooks doesn't save the code. You'll need to enter it every time you want to verify a card transaction. Why do I need to enter the card security code every time?

For Visa and MasterCard, the code is 3 digits and is located on the back of the card near the signature line.
