Which trial balance fields are imported?

For your trial balances, the following fields are imported:

FIELD	DESCRIPTION	RESTRICTIONS
Account Name	What you call this account. Mandatory.	Must be unique Must contain between 1 and 100 characters Alpha, numeric and special characters allowed Cannot include a colon (:)
Account Type	The category of account (for example, "Equity," "Income," "Bank". Optional.	Type must match an existing account type in QuickBooks. If blank, QuickBooks will assign a default account type. Choose from list to change.
Detail Type	This defines the account type in more detail (for example, you might have both "Sales of product income" and "Service/Fee income"). Optional.	Maximum 100 characters. Detail Type must exactly match Detailed Account Type in QuickBooks. If blank, QuickBooks will assign a default account type. Choose from list to change.
Credit	The credit amount in this account, if applicable Optional.	Must be numeric.
Debit	The debit amount in this account, if applicable Optional.	Must be numeric.

Tips

Confirm your files contain data.
To import multiple pages, save each page as a separate file.
Make sure the information you want to import appears on the first page of your workbook.
Make sure your spreadsheet has a header row. QuickBooks uses the first line for mapping purposes and does not import it.
