QuickBooks adds a list of common tax codes based on the location of your company. When rates change, QuickBooks updates these codes automatically.
You can add custom tax codes for any additional tax codes you need. You can also edit the rates for any of the custom taxes you set up in QuickBooks.
Changes to the tax code will apply to any future transactions you add it to. If you need to change the tax rate for an existing transaction, open that transaction and edit the rate manually.
