What is days in advance to create?

You can enter the value for this field when you edit the schedule of a recurring template.

The days in advance to create field allows you to create transactions (from recurring templates) a specified number of days before the actual transaction date. Doing this is useful when you want to create and see transactions several days before the actual transaction date.

For example, your transactions are scheduled on the 15th of every month, but you want to send your customers a reminder 10 days ahead. When you enter 10 in days in advance to create, QuickBooks creates the transactions on the 5th of the month. You can print invoices or send reminders related to the transactions once they are created. The transaction date remains the 15th of the month.

Changing the value of this field does not change any existing transaction. If you leave the field blank, QuickBooks creates the transaction on the transaction date.

The values for Previous Date and Next Date that appear on the Recurring Transactions and on reports are based on the transaction date, not the date when the transactions were created.
