Customize a statement

You can change some of the level of detail in statements, and whether to show aging info or not. Currently you can’t change the appearance or style of statements.

You can customize:

Activity column contents

You can decide how much information to provide to your customers about each transaction. By default, QuickBooks lists transactions in the Activity column by their type: Invoice #1740 or Payment, for example.

If you include a memo on individual transactions—say, "monthly garden maintenance"—that memo also appears in the Activity column. You can further opt to include line item details as well.

You create memo descriptions individually, in each invoice, sales receipt, and so on. You set the option to list transactions as a single line or to include all detail lines in company settings. (Gear icon > Company Settings (or Account and Settings depending on what you see) > Sales > Statements)

Aging info option

Aging information can be useful if you want to show amounts by how many days they’re overdue. You can include an aging table at the bottom of statements to show amounts:

Set the aging table option in company settings. (Gear icon > Company Settings (or Account and Settings depending on what you see) > Sales > Statements)
