Missing statements

If you don't see all the statements you expect, check these potential causes:

ClosedThe invoice, sales receipt, or credit memo dates are after the statement date.

If the statement date is before the dates of transactions, QuickBooks thinks there is no need to create a statement.

What you can do

  1. On the Statements page, change the Statement date, the Start date, or the End date and click Apply. Or, check the dates of invoices and other sales transactions for errors.
  2. Correct the errors, if any, and create the statement again.
ClosedThe customer is a sub-customer whose activity appears on the parent's statement.

When you created the customer, if you selected Is sub-customer, you had the option of making transactions appear on the customer's statement, or its parent's statement.

What you can do

If you want the sub-customer to receive a statement directly:

  1. In the navigation bar, click Customers (or Invoicing > Customers, or Sales > Customers depending on what you see).

  2. Select the customer.
  3. Click Edit.
  4. In the Is sub-customer section, click Bill this customer.
  5. Click Save.
  6. Create the statement again.
