View and pay sales tax
As you collect sales tax from customers, you'll periodically want to see the amounts of sales tax you owe to tax agencies. In the Sales Tax Center, you can view a report about your sales tax liability and you can record your sales tax payments.
The Sales Tax Center is the best place to record sales tax payments because you can see all your recent payments on a single page.
To view your sales tax liability report:
- Click View Report beneath the Sales Tax Owed list.
To record a tax payment:
- Select the tax agency you're recording the payment for in the Sales Tax Owed list.
- Click Record Tax Payment at the bottom of the list.
- Enter specific information:
- The bank account you're making the payment from
- The payment date
- The ending date for the tax period
- The amount of the tax you're paying
- To make an adjustment to the amount, select Make Adjustment and enter information about the adjustment.
- Any notes about the payment you want to make
- Click Record Tax Payment.
To delete a tax payment:
You can delete a tax payment you recorded, if you need to for any reason. Deleting a payment changes the sales tax owed and balances in the Sales Tax Center and in sales tax reports.
- In the Recent Sales Tax Payment table at the bottom of the page, select the row that contains the payment you want to delete.
- Click Delete Payment.
- Confirm that you want to delete the payment.
