Sales tax overview

The Sales Tax Center is where you manage and track sales tax. With it, you can:

• Set up sales tax (both single and up to 5 combined rates) so you can charge sales tax on invoices and other sales forms
• See how much sales tax you've paid
• See how much your next tax payments are
• Record your tax payments in one spot, instead of using a paid bill or check
• Set a default tax rate for your company
• Mark customers as taxable or tax-exempt

The main tasks you do with sales tax are:

• Set up your specific agencies, rates, and settings in the Sales Tax Center
• Add sales tax to your standard transactions like invoices and sales receipts
• Add sales tax to things like charges, discounts, time, and so on (if appropriate)
• View and pay sales tax you owe
