Link to a QuickBooks Payments account you already have
If you already have a QuickBooks Payments account from Intuit (you may know it as QuickBooks Merchant Service or GoPayment), you can link it to QuickBooks and start processing credit card payments right away.
You can link a Payments account to only one company at a time, so if you link your account to the current company, you'll no longer be able to accept credit cards in the previously linked QuickBooks company.
To link your account:
- Click the Gear icon > Company Settings (or Account and Settings depending on what you see).
- Click the Payments tab.
- Click Connect.
- Follow the onscreen instructions.
Limitations
The following accounts and features aren't supported by QuickBooks. If you use these features, you may decide to continue processing as you do today, or consider opening another account for use with your current QuickBooks company for a discounted price.
- If you use check scanning (Check Solution for QuickBooks, Billing Solution for QuickBooks, Recurring Billing or Automatic Credit Card Billing), please note that:
- Recurring Billing or ACCB rules must be turned off before you link. You can copy the data manually and re-create the rules in QuickBooks after linking.
- Billing Solution for QuickBooks isn't supported in the online version of QuickBooks. However, you can email invoices that invite your customers to pay you with a credit card or bank transfer (ACH).
- Check scanning (Intuit Check Solution) isn't supported in the online version of QuickBooks. You can continue to process ACH transactions in the Merchant Service Center, but these transactions aren't downloaded automatically into the online version of QuickBooks.
- If you have a merchant account of type Intuit Online Terminal or QBMS-Mac, please contact Customer Support to have your account configured properly so you can link the account to QuickBooks.
- Certain accounts (POS merchant service and Terminal merchant service) can't be linked to QuickBooks.
To view the currently linked account
