Refund a down payment accepted by credit card through QuickBooks Payments

If you refund a down payment that you originally processed on a credit card through the Receive Payment page (in other words, you didn't create an invoice to receive the down payment as a deposit), there is a special way you should issue this refund.

1. Issue the credit card refund as usual.
2. Create an invoice for the amount you refunded. Just save the invoice so that your books are correct, but don't send it to your customer.
