Change a product or service to another type

When you add a product or service, you choose its type: stock, non-stock, service, or bundle. If your business needs change, you can change a product or service's type, in some cases.

For example, you may have a non-stock product but want to start tracking how many you have on hand. In this case, you could change the product type to "stock."

You can only change services and non-stock products to another type. You can’t change an stock product or a bundle to another type, and you can’t change any product or service type into a bundle.

1. Click the Gear icon > Products and Services.
2. To change the type of just one product or service:
1. Find the product, service, or bundle you want to change.
2. In its Action column, click Edit.
3. Click Change type.
4. Click the product or service type you want.
5. Click Save and close.

To change the type of many products or services at once:

You can only use this method to change services to non-stock products or vice versa.

1. Select the products and services you want to change.
2. Click Batch actions and click either Make non-stock or Make service.
