Declined credit card

The cardholder's bank declined the transaction. A transaction can be declined for different reasons. Often, the bank declines the transaction because the credit card number was entered incorrectly.

Suggestions

• Check that you entered the cardholder's name, card number, and expiration date correctly, and then try to process the transaction again. If you do not have the card in hand, contact the customer to verify this information.
• If the card declines again, ask the customer for a different credit card or another form of payment.
• If you receive this message when you try to process this card type for the first time, it could mean your Payments account was not set up properly for this card type. (This is a possibility only if you have never been able to process this card type successfully.)
