Cannot process
QuickBooks Payments is available at an additional cost. Learn more and apply.
There may be a problem with the credit card data, or a communication error prevented QuickBooks from connecting to the payment server and sending the transaction. If this is a new QuickBooks Payments account, your application may be incomplete.
Suggestions
- Check that you entered the cardholder's name, credit card number, and expiration date correctly, and then try to process the transaction again. If you do not have the card in hand, contact the customer to verify this information.
- To make sure you are set up to accept this card type, visit the Merchant Service Center.
- Try processing your transaction again later. To do so, go to your home page and select the credit card processing error.
- If you still have questions, you can contact Customer Support.
If this is a new QuickBooks Payments account
- Check your email for a message that references your merchant ID. Unless we need more information to turn on Payments, the email is sent to you immediately.
- If you received the email, but you still can't process credit cards, or if you've used your account successfully before you received this error message, there may be a problem with your QuickBooks Payments account setup. Contact Customer Support.
