Void a credit card payment you accepted

You can void a credit card transaction until 3 pm PT on the day you process a payment. After that time, if you need to reverse a credit card payment refund the customer instead.
There are no transaction fees for a void.
What are the fees for a QuickBooks Payments account?
To void a payment (before 3 pm PT)
There are two ways to void. You can:
- Void the credit card payment and the QuickBooks transaction that contains it.
- Void just the credit card payment, but preserve the transaction in your QuickBooks books for reuse with a different payment method.
To void the payment and the transaction:
- Find the sales receipt, received payment, or invoice that contains the credit card payment you want to void.
- At the bottom of the form, click More > Void.
- In response to the confirmation message, click Yes.
To void only the credit card payment:
- Find the sales receipt, received payment, or invoice that contains the credit card payment you want to void.
- Click Transaction has been processed underneath Payment method.
- In the Credit Card Transaction Status window, click Void Payment.
- Back in the sales receipt screen, change the payment method information and then click Save and close.
