Customize your register view
There are many ways to customize how you view your register. You can experiment with some of the following options to see what works best for you.
- Use column headers to:
- Use the Gear icon to:
- Show and hide columns
- View in Paper Ledger Mode where the most recent transactions are at the bottom
- Show transactions in one line
- Change the number of transactions that show in one register page
Change column widths

In the navigation bar, click Transactions > Chart of Accounts (or Accounting > Chart of Accounts depending on what you see).
- Find the account you want to view and click its View register link.
- Hover over the side of the column header that you want to adjust. When your pointer is in the right location, it changes from an arrow to a column adjuster with two small arrows pointing left and right.
- Click and drag the edge of the column header to your preferred width.
If your window becomes too small to fit all of your columns, your Running balance on the right may disappear. Use the scroll bar at the bottom of the Register window to view it again.
View a register in Paper Ledger Mode
You can view a register in traditional ledger mode so that:
- Transactions are sorted by date with the most recent ones at the bottom
- You enter new transactions at the bottom
To view a register in Paper Ledger Mode:

In the navigation bar, click Transactions > Chart of Accounts (or Accounting > Chart of Accounts depending on what you see).
- Find the account you want to view and click its View register link.
- Click the Gear icon and then select Paper Ledger Mode.
